how to disable anti-virus bios

Hi, Im having big problems installing 98SE [it freezes during the final hardware settings ]and reading through earlier letters a common theme is checking bios for anti-virus and disabling. Im a novice at this and cant find instructions anywhere about how to locate and change these settings. Could someone help with basis step by step info.? Many thanks

When you first power up the PC it normally states at the bottom of the first visible screen how to enter CMOS settings screen. Quite often it is the Delete key. If it does not say how then either look at the manual at home or online or post back with the make and model as someone may know.
Once in there just look around until you locate the option to disable virus check.
Then on the screen somewhere it will tell you how to Save the settings and exit.

To add to Bryan's suggestions, don't forget to install anti virus, and anti ad software like HiJack This SpyBot AdAware

Mike, follow rayman's advice after you install windows and after you install a resident AV program. I, and most others do not use an AV based in bios.
