Just a quick question:

The office that I work in needs to transfer our print server (Windows 2000) to another location and they want to make my computer (Windows 98) the print server.

Do I need Windows 2000 to be a print server, or can I set it up through 98? If so, can someone point me to a site with related info?

Thanks.

The first question would be, how many computers are going to print to this printer?

Win9X/ME/2000pro/XP can only accept 10 incomming connections at a time. If you going to connect 10 or less computers then you should be fine. If you going to connect more then 10, you will need the server version of Win2K.

Only 3 computers will be hooked up to it. Where can I find some info on actually creating the server in 98?

hook the win98 printer server pc into your hub, and setup the printer on it, make sure that file and printer sharing is turned on in network settings. now all pcs on the network should be able to print off this printer. more info?
