Subject: How to Create a bootable CD? |
Comment: How Could i Create an bootable CD? I was trying to make a Windows 98 Backup, but I did not want to make a direct copy (creating an image file out of the original Windows 98 CD), because I wanted to add some file to the copilation. What I did was to copy ALL of the files on the original CD into an empty folder and then I burned them; I end up getting a normal copy, all the files were copied, and I was able to add/remove features in Windowos setup, even autorun was working fine. ...But It was not able to boot the pc!! Which ones are the main files to be create, in order to make it bootable? ..any suggestions?

Reply: (edit)Newer versions of CD burner programs have a check box to automatically create a bootable CD. Update your CD burning program.

Reply: (edit)To make the bootable CD capable of installing Win98, the only thing you need from the Win98 installation CD is the 'Win98' folder.
