My question is, I am trying to block my IP Addy from other pc's. I goto a (password protected)site that uses an IP Log. I would like to block the IP from a secondary computer, so that they dont know where I logged in from, is this possible??
Even if I need to spend money for something from my local PC shop, I would be interested.
Any replies would appreciated

Were you a bad boy and got banned?
I know someone that did that and they got real nasty, make some threats. The FBI showed up at their door.
You could probably use a proxy but then it would not validate your password and fail to let you enter.

I am just one step past a Newbie so I hope you get some better responses, but I use a firewall, and although I get hits to my IP address, they are of course all blocked unless I allow it, including incoming mail via Outlook. Using Zone Alarm Pro. $39.00

*chuckle* bad boy.
Your IP Address is broadcast by your ISP as part of the outgoing data packets; there's absolutely nothing you can do to prevent this.
The only legal ways around this are to dial in through another ISP or use a web anonymizer service. These are "proxy server" providers who take your datagrams, strip off your IP address, and insert their own so there's no direct connection between your data packets and your IP address. Many password protected sites are on to the latter and automatically block anonymizer service IP ranges.
As for the former it works until you run out of dialup accounts. And ISPs dislike 'throwaway accounts'; sometimes they come after you for damages if you're using them to spam or post obscene messages on members-only web boards or whatever. And they will always comply with a Search Warrant to turn over your account information.

Most proxy servers use HTTP Forwarding anyways so they intentionally TELL the site your visiting your real IP.
A way around that is to chain proxies, but still the proxy admins all keep logs.
Also, if you have javascript and/or cookies enabled, scripts and cookies can get your real IP and report it back to the site your visiting, regardless of anything else 'preventive' you do.

I got a program for Christmas that is exactly what you are looking for. It is called Security 98. It can block the IP address, and also has an AV set up on it, and a fire wall too. It can also block out your whole computer from prying eyes. This is why I have hesitated to use. To much blocking for my liking. But I think it will do exactly what you want. Just go to any pc store and look for Security 98.
