Now when i load it up it wont read the ms-dos boot disk so i can install and when it gets pass the picture it says missing file C:/windows/system/vmm32.vdx.
Its a sotre bought computer but is there any way to access my A:/ drive so i can install? Please help me by today
You have deleted system files, you pritty much need to reinstall window 98.
Have you tried to boot up with the system disk in a:?
If you have tried that and A: won't boot.
Access the bios when you re boot by pressing the f1 key or the delete key, then see if the bios has A: set, also in the bios make sure that the boot sequence is set to A: then C:

Well ill try that but just to make my problem clearer i had deleted EVERYTHING and now it just when it boots up shows a picture then says locate blah blah blah. So i took out the hard drive and installed 98 on a different comp. So then i put the hard drive back in the original and now it loads up 98 but with no cd rom drives .
So if i delete everything off of it ..change the bios to a: and then run a 98 boot disk I can reinstall windows on this machine.
