I just build a computer and am running win98SE. I have an AMD Duron 800mghz and my motherbd has three SDRAM slots. The BIOStar motherbd advertises that it is capable of supporting over 1.5 Ghz of SDRAM. I originally purchased 128Mb of Atlas ram, but due to the computer's use of simutatiously running internet games, printing for other computers and sharing alot of MP3's I want more ram. I purchased a 512 MB stick of generic SDRAM. Can I use my current 128MB stick in conjuction w/ the 512MB? Both are PC 133. Does windows 98 know what to do with that much RAM? My roommate claims windows98 only recognizes 256.

Thanks
DAN

A 32 bit OS can't see more than 2 Gigabytes. And unless you're running a 64 bit processor - the same limitation applies.

Windows itself has several known issues on systems with more than 512 Megs of RAM - but it can be done with some work arounds.
