How i import dump file

Hi, How can i import unix based oracle dump file into window based oracle. I have idea about window based oracle exp/imp utility. But i have dump file of unix based oracle and i need to import into window based database. THIS IS URGENT. PLEASE MAIL AT pankaj.pawan at gmail.com. If u hav solution.

If the dump file is an ASCII text file, what you might have to do is to convert the line endings for the unix style carriage return to the microsoft carriage return/line feed style.

Hi wizard-fred, Thanx for reply... Actully i got the dump file of oracle database of unix using exp utility. Now how i can import it into window based oracle database. Before using imp utility, is any other process on given dump file. Actully i try to import but it unsuccessfully returned.
Plese reply what should i do? its a very urgent..... Pankaj

Same answer. You have to look at the data in a Windows machine and check if the fields line up. There may be other options in either the export or import program to correct the data format. The reason is that UNIX writes data differently than Microsoft products.
