How do you permanently remove the links folder from IE Favorites folder?
I've done it in the past but can't remember how. Everytime I click on IE, The Links folder shows up in my Favorites folder. Please tell me how to permanently remove Links Folder.
It appears that a number of those who responded don't understand the word "permanently" other than reghakr. I've removed it in the registry @ [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MenuOrder\Favorites\Links] and it just replaces it.

I found this at http://www.windows-help.net - and it works!!
The Links Folder in your Favorites Folder can not be deleted. You can hide it however:
In Windows Explorer go to \Windows\Favorites Right-click on the Links folder From the menu select Properties Place a Check-mark in the attributes box for Hidden Now the Links folder won't show on the Favorites menu.
If you have the Links Toolbar visible, you can hide it by Right-clicking an empty space on the Toolbar, and clicking Links from the drop-down menu to clear the check-mark for the Links Toolbar.
The same procedure can be followed to hide the Software Updates Folder (or any other Folder for that matter).
Summary: In the 'start' => 'find' menu, how do you remove items from here? Does anyone know where this value is in the registry? Oh yeah, I'm running Win98se. ...
