How can I stop IE (5.5 and 6.0) from asking me whether I want to switch on Autocomplete or not?
Everything is unticked in the Autocomplete settings, but it still keeps asking me every few days, even when I click No.
Is it a Microsoft design feature to keep asking me until I say yes !
I have the same problem at work with NT 4.0.
Thanks in advance

You didn't say whether the ticks appeared back in the autocomplete section of the IE settings?
Do you have profiling on the PC's? If so you may be getting settings back from a server if you log into one.
I've had no problems with 5, 5.5 or 6, once you tell the autocomplete to get stuffed, it doesn't come back.
More information needed perhaps.

Hi Tony,
The tick marks do not re-appear and I don't have any profiles set up.
The AutoComplete dialog only reappears intermittently (say every couple of days), not every time I open IE.
The dialog doesn't necessarily appear immediately I open IE, but When I answer No to the dialog, it seems to do the trick for at least the rest of that session.
It's not a major problem, it's more akin to being reminded to register a product every now and again.
I did ask admin at work but they said they'd never seen this b4 ("when you switch it off, it should stay off") - that is until they saw it on my machine :-)
I wondered if there was some registry setting that might be tweaked to solve it.
Thanks
