are you sure you formatted the harddrive? then go to control panels add new hardware let windows detect it... it'll probably find it then

Favian, You will have to partition drive before formatting it. Windows will not recognize a drive without partitions. If partitioned but not formatted, windows will find it but will not read it. Use fdisk at dos prompt, be sure to select drive 2. Al

Al's got it, I'm going through the same thing right now. you can check in controll panel-systems-hard drives and hard drive controller to see if it is recognizing that its there, make sure the jumpers are right if it doesn't, if fdisk does not diplay your 2 drive, then check bios, mine read my ibm drive# under secondary slave, not primary, then i changed it to user mode and then read secondary slave instead of primary slave and i was able to partition it,set primary then do extended w/logical drives. now my problem is formating, can i format each partition in fat16 and another in 32, also can i do this in window by right clicking on the drive letter then click format?

If you plugged the new HD into the same ribbon cable that your origional HD is plugged into...you need to set the jumper on the new HD to "slave"...
Summary: Help, I recently low level formatted my hard drive and now I can only see half. It is a 4GB and I can only see 2GB (yeah, I know, I'm a math wiz) Anyways, how do I get all of my hard drive working? ...
Summary: Adding bits of software from magazines etc... has led to a real slowdown. Bits of my dll libraries are missing (Norton can't find them) I have some missing clusters... The hard drive is full of bits...
