Reply: (edit)Get a boot floppy with CD support (if you made one in Windows Add-Remove Programs that will do nicely). You need to change to your CD drive which will probably become E for a while. Type cd e: This should put you to the root of E. Pop in your W98 CD and type setup.exe Hopefully away you should go. Happy Christmas.

Reply: (edit)make a win98 startup disk start-settings-control panel-add/remove programs-startup disk tab-create disk. or download a self extracting one from http://www.bootdisk.com have a blank formatted 3.5 floppy ready. bootup with it in a: choose with cd-rom support,put 98 cd in cd-rom at a: type e: press enter , type setup. otherwise you will need to make autoexec.bat and config.sys files on c: to access your cd-rom and download your dos driver for your cd-rom How to Install Windows 98 on a Computer with No Operating System (Q221829)
