Subject: how do I get IE on my laptop |
Comment: I just bought a laptop and I want to install Windows Media Player. However, when I try to install WMP, it says that I must have IE 4.0 or higher. But, I don't have it on my computer that is not connected to the internet. How do I get Internet Explorer on my computer that doesn't have an internet connection? (P.S. you need to download all the files as you install) Any suggestions?

Reply: (edit)Try this link for IE 4.01 http://html.tucows.com/adnload/dlmsie40stand.html Found on ZDNet Help (I think) a few months back. Direct Cable connect or split the file into (numerous) floppies, it's big but not enormous.

Reply: (edit)Ok, no one even ask him if he has a cd rom drive on the laptop. everyone says to buy software and install modems and stuff, but all the drivers are on cd roms. I am going to assume the worst, that he does not have one. Here is a site that has IE4 on Floppies. you will need 20 floppies. And yes this download works, I tried it myself. Just download the files onto your floppies and then transfer it to your laptop. But you want Windows Media Player and if memory serves me it should already be a part of your O/S. Well depending on what O/S you are using on it. Anyway here is the link: Win95 IE 4.01 Disk Images
