i get a (This program has caused..) error message every time i open IE5 i click on details and it reads like this.. IEXPLORE caused an invalid page fault in module at 0000:00000000. me pasó el mismo problema. LO SIGUIENTE LO ARREGLO. INICIAR CON F8 Y ENTRAR EN (SOLO SINBOLO DEL SISTEMA EN MODO A PRUEBA DE FALLA) C:\SCANREG/RESTORE PONER UNA FECHA ANTERIOR PARA RESTABLECER EL REGISTRO. REINICIAR Y OK

HayRob. you can take advantage of IE repair utility. This would hopefully solve your problem.
Ride through Start>Program>Accessories>MaintenanceTools>SystemInformation>Tools and you would have some weapon to make IE behave.
