For W95 - I boot up with a disk that I created from bootdisk.com, no problem that gets me to
the A:.But now how do I get to D: to read the CDROM. When I put
the change directory to D: it does not allow me to.Does that mean that I am missing CDROM drivers or
something like that? How do I get to the next step of installing W95 by reading
the CDROM after the boot disk has been read?

Your CD drive will not be D it should give you a message telling you what it is.If not try cd\e cd\f and so on until you get the right one

You most probably need the drivers for the CDROM drive to be detected in the DOS mode. So u can go down to driverguide.com and u can download the appropriate DOS driver for the CDROM drive and then use the CDROM drive in the dos mode....
You can go to bootdisk.com and find the option "Make Your Cdrom Work In DOS " in the "HOW TO GUIDES FOR DOS AND WINDOWS 95/98 " option on the site.

Know anyone with ME??? You can have them make a ME boot disk which has the cdrom drivers. No sense going to all the trouble of reinventing the wheel if you don't have to.
You will note when mscdex loads it will tell you what drive letter the cdrom is on. If you don't see that in your present boot disk then your boot disk doesn't have cdrom drivers loading.
Jim if there is only one drive with one partition being c: then the cdrom WILL be d:.

An ME disk will not work with 95 neither will 95b if you are using 95a, the command interpreter is different for each OS.As for the drive letter try a bootdisk ,as I remember it used a different drive than D.Cyber's advice is sound
