IE4 should do it. I 'think' you have to allow the 'Active Desktop' option.

Try grabbing your desktop icons and dragging them onto the tool bar. That worked for me when I had my 486/DX. And there is another way you can check: Follow this path to see if you have a quick launch folder for the stuff to be stored in: C:\windows\application data\internet explorer\quick launch. If this folder is present then your version is updated enough to use it.

So shoot me Dan Penny for missing the Microsoft bit in there. I was typing from memory. I didn't write it all down as you may have. And just how have you been anyway? I have completely rebuilt my computer from motherboard up AGAIN!! Not my fault this time. Motherboard died then USB cable caught fire and burned out cable/port, USB hub, and my digital camera. So you see I been a busy bee. And also got a 17" monitor now. NICE!!! Anyway sorry bout the slip up. I'll try not to let it happen again if you forgive me, I promise.

I don't know who put in response 7, but it wasn't me. Anyway.... Terri, I noticed you haven't been around the board for a little while. Good to hear from you. I've been fine, other than having to re-format/re-load. I posted about it, but I got impatient and went ahead w/ the format. All is fine and well now though. Take care, Dan

Well Dan if you read my previous post, I think that kinda explains why I haven't been around. A motherboard dying and your USB cable catching fire can knock you for a loop. After I did get it back up and running I needed a break from computers. And the 2 months before it happened I was running ragged trying to fix other peoples computers. Guess I just had a computer burnout, ya? Good to hear from you, and glad your format turned out ok. Hey you know you can always email me if you can't get a reply on here, don't you? Take care.
