How can I stop irfan_view from hogging all the programs, for eg; if I send a jpeg by e-mail, and if the receiving computer doesn't have irfan-view installed the jpeg wont open.
I have tried using "open with" but no go.
So how can I use irfan to just work with the progs I choose without deleating it?
Thanks in advance.

This is simple enough. Open Irfanview, click "options", click "properties", click the "Extensions" tab and take the checkmarks out of whichever extensions you don't want Irfanview associated with, then click "OK". Hope this helps. And by the way the recieving party does not have to have Irfanview to open a .jpg/.jpeg file you sent them even though you're using Irfanview. Their IEXPLORER will open them just fine.

Thanks Tufenuf, I did just what you said even made Kodak Imaging the default, but irfan still wants to open everything.
Have I missed something?

Dave, Find any .jpg/.jpeg file you have, left click on it to hilite it, then hold your shifkey down and right click on the hilited file, release your shiftkey and click on "open with" scroll down to whatever program (kodak, iexplorer etc.) you want to use to open .jpg/.jpeg files with, click that program to hilite it, put a checkmark in the "allways use this program etc." box, click "OK". This will reassociate your .jpg/.jpeg with the program of your choice. I'd recommend using "iexplorer" since if I'm not mistaken Kodak is more for .bmp files. Hope this helps.
