received an e-mail with an Attachment with .prn as file extension. How can I open this file ,please?

It is a Print File. You can print it under DOS with the comand:
COPY XXXXXXX.PRN PRN /B

It's a Postscript file. Try using Word. The following link give more information:

Use Ghostview32. It's the best. It will also allow you to convert it to a PDF file!
