Comment: How can I make an icon from scratch? Can I make them in any image editor like MS paint? Is there a specific size they have to be? Or does anybody know a site that explains this process. thanks everyone!

Reply: (edit)You can make them in Paint but you won't be able so save them as the right file format. Save them as a .gif and then get a program like Microangelo (Shareware) and convert them to a .ico or .icl. There are a few different sizes that are used in different places and this is what the .icl (Icon Resource Library) is used for. HTH, wcr3d

I was unable to connect to their homepage but this is a direct download link... http://www.nonags.com/files/?/grapht/bmp2icon.zip It is not very good but it works.
