i'm using win98, pentium pro 133mhz,48 Ram, everytime i boot up the computer. the network window appear to ask me enter username and password but my computer not connect to the network. how can i get rid of the network window.
please help........

go to your network neighbor properties and set Primary Network logon to windows logon

Remove IPX and NetBEUI protocols that is, if you don't use the LAN. Make sure you only have the protocols client for microsoft network, dialup adapter, and TCP/IP that should remove your icon network neighbor...to do this go to the control panel and double click on network icon. Another thing make sure that you windows cd is in the cdrom. The bad thing about the protocol "client for microsoft network" is that your port 139 is wide open.
