My internet explorer is corrupted, trying yo reload the program, it asks me for my proxy server. How do i go about finding my proxy server, I'll appreciate your help, charlie

Are you on a network? If no, then you do not have a proxy server.

thank you Sterling, I am not on a network, I am going to try a program called IEradicator, I was wondering if you had an opinion about this program. One of the posters told me not to use this program, though, I feel as if I had no choice but to use this program, charlie

Hi Charlie, try this first Go to Control panel\add/remove programs scroll down to microsoft internet explorer 6 and Internet tools, Highlight it then click on add\remove, choose repair internet explorer. Dont know if you have ever used this before but it does work. Edward (UK)

Thank you for your input Edward, the feature you have point out has been erased as was the other tool in the msinfo area. I also tried to download it from soft, but the answer came bad that the program has errors in it, i also tried to load in ie5.5, it wouldn't accept it. I am using netscape 4.7, there are features of ie missing in this browser, and some sites cannot be used because of netscape, at least of have a working browser. I would to have ie6 back and hope others may help me reintroducing the pgm into my computer, charlie

I've never used IEradicator but I've seen some good reports on here about it. I think I stumbled across a bad report once but they seem to be rare.

Hi Charlie, I think the best thing you can do is reload Windows and start again fresh with IE5 on windows98 Disk. Then you can Update to IE6 anytime. I dont know what you mean by (quote) I also tried to download it from soft. Anyway try this. Go to program files\internet explorer\then click on Ie6setup.exe follow the info and dowload it from the North American sites. Edward (UK)
