Comment: I wanna know how can I create a backup disk only containing the active desktop component to use it in my other pc,if you read my last message(unique # 31998) you may guess why I want to do this.

Reply: (edit)you need to back track C:\Program Files\internet Explorer\setup,click setup icon to uninstall IE5 and this will reload you're old IE3, then reload IE4 (with active desktop and all that) then reload IE5. the bits you what are only in IE4

Reply: (edit)Pharken stupid answers create a stupid question. Active desktop is installed with IE 4.01 SP 1 and/or 2 Also installed with the latest version of 5 - 5.02 I think - whateva. Learn what comes with what version of Win9x and how to install what yar want - then ask what parts of the registry to back up to retain yar decktop settings.
