How can I change the format of a file?

I downloaded a special font that I am planning on using on a little project of mine. Well it was one of those that when you go to open it, you have to pick the format. I picked the wrong one and now any font that I download automatically saves in that format no matter what I do. Whether I delete other downloaded fonts of the same format or move to a diferent folder it still wont change formats and I cant use the font. Is it even possible to change the format? What else could I do? Thanks for anyhelp.

I seriously doubt that the format of the font is being changed - When you clicked Open With, you set up an association for the extention.
Try this: Highlight the filename in Explorer, press the Shift key and right click it. This should provide you with an additional option to Open With...
You can also delete the association in Explorer by clicking View, Folder Options, File Types - Just locate it, and delete it.
