Reply: (edit)Use Norton's Ghost program. Set the switch to a:\ghost.exe -split=630 630 equals the file size of the split-up Ghost images. A standard CD-R can hold 650 megs of info, I like to give it about a 20 megs headroom just to be safe.

Reply: (edit)The first two responses are the way to do it if it's the windows system that you want to back up. But if it's just data, can't you back it up in two segments?

Reply: (edit)If you are backing your system up it might compress to fit on the CD anyway, choose high compression. I manage to backup my sys about 1 Gb on to a single CD. HTH ps can recommend Ghost, must backup to a separate partition or drive. Steve

Reply: (edit)I back up my computer to CDRW regularly as well as to tape and zip disks. Veritas (formerly Seagate) Backup Exec will backup to all of the above drives and the nice thing about it is that you can select exactly what you want to back up. Another one that I use for data only although it will back up any file you want is Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4. It will only back up to CD drives. You can select the files you want to back up there too. You control what goes on each CD and it shows the space used as you add the files to each layout. They have another program included in the package called "Take Two" that does a complete backup of your computer but you must use it a drive at a time and I had one of those on hand for a crash last week and could not reinstall it. I will not use that one again. There is also some freeware and shareware that will do this but the ones I tried were pretty crude.
