open the screen you wanna capture,
minimize it
open paint, minimize it.
reopen screen to be captured,
hit alt, printscreen at the same time.
open paint, maximize the blank window.
open edit at the top there, hit paste.
presto.
not exactly a hotkey, but it works

Here is my file , plenty of choices .

Screen Capture Win98

If you are in any windows based program, just hit
the Print Screen key on your keyboard ( or Ctrl + V ) and you have a full screenshot.
If you hold down the 'Alt' key with the Print screen key, you will
capture only the window that is on your screen, not the whole desk top.
This sends it to Clipboard , now you can Paste it into Paint ( go to Edit ) or any
other Windows based graphics program .
Save as...
If you need to crop it, put it in any Edit program and crop.

I use Irfanview instead of Paint .
Install Irfanview ( freeware ) from ,
http://stud1.tuwien.ac.at/~e9227474/english.htm

Also , on the above page , click on Irfanview?
Go to 3 , PlugIn required ( check this page for download )
Personally , I downloaded all of them .

After installing , go to
Options>Properties>Extensions , click on select all .

If Clipboard is not installed , go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Windows Setup >
System Tools & click on Clipboard Viewer > follow instructions .

If you don't have a Windows install disk , here is a free Clipboard program .

--------------

With text displaying in browser window in IE, I highlight the portion
of the text I want to print, leave the block of text highlighted and
choose "print" from the IE file menu at the top of the screen. After
the print window pops up, I choose "selection" from the section where
you can tell it to print all pages, from page x to y, or to print
the "selection" (meaning the highlighted block).

------

From , Outlook Express Help , type images .

To insert a picture in a message .

In the message, click where you want the image to appear.

On the Insert menu, click Picture, and then click Browse to find the
image file.

Enter Layout and Spacing information for the image file as needed.

Notes
If you cannot select the Picture command, make sure HTML formatting
is turned on by clicking the Format menu in the message window and
then clicking Rich Text (HTML). A black dot appears by the command
when it is selected.

If message recipients are not able to view your inserted images,
click the Tools menu, and then click Options. Click the Send tab,
click HTML Settings, and then make sure that Send pictures with
messages is selected. Then resend your message.

To insert a background picture in your message, in the message window,
click the Format menu, point to Background, and then click Picture.
Click the Browse button to search for the file you want to use.

E-mail Screen Shots using Outlook ( not Outlook Express )

To send a screen shot via e-mail, open the desired window, and
press Alt+PrtScrn. Open a new message in Outlook, then press
Ctrl-V to paste the window into your message. To capture the
entire desktop, rather than just the active window, press the
PrtScrn key without the Alt key.

SELECTIVE PRINTING. Sometimes we want to print a selected passage
from a Web page, and that's easy with MS Internet Explorer. Just
highlight the desired text, use CTRL + P, and in the Print window,
click on Selection from the Print Range selection, then OK. The same
capability doesn't exist with Netscape Communcicator where the
Selection option is greyed out in the Print window.

PrintDeskTop is a screen print utility for Windows (95/98/NT/ME/2000/XP). PrintDeskTop lets
you print your screen with the click of a mouse or the shortcut key of your choice. To use
PrintDeskTop, simply download and install it, then click the Windows Start button followed by
the PrintDeskTop icon. You can optionally define a shortcut key to print your screen .
PrintDeskTop lets you print the exact contents of your screen with the click of a mouse or the
shortcut key of your choice. Without PrintDeskTop, it's nearly impossible for the average user
to print their screen. With PrintDeskTop, you don't have to capture your screen image before
printing it; you simply click the Windows Start button followed by the PrintDeskTop icon. Or,
if you prefer, assign a shortcut key of your choice and use it to print your screen. Print
only what you need. How many times have you had to print countless pages from a web site or
whatever, only to throw away all but the one you wanted? And best of all, PrintDeskTop is free!
New features in version 1.05: 1) Default printer detection; the user is prompted for target
printer if there is no default.

http://www.worldstart.com/tips/printingwebpages.htm
Do you print out web pages? If so, do you become annoyed at all the header and footer info that
gets printed on each and every page? You know, the web address, title, etc? Well, with Internet
Explorer, you can get that adjusted right out of there, or customize it. Here's how:

1. Click the File menu, Page Setup

2. Find the "Headers & Footers" area and remove all the gibberish in the respective fields. Hit
OK and you have it.

Now, that will keep the computer from printing all of your header and footer info, but what if
you want some of it? Well, you can do that too, using the parameters below in the header and
footer fields:

&w Window title

&u Page address (URL)

&d Date in short format (as specified by Regional Settings in Control
Panel)

&D Date in long format (as specified by Regional Settings in Control
Panel)

&t Time in the format specified by Regional Settings in Control Panel

&T Time in 24-hour format

&p Current page number

&P Total number of pages

&& A single ampersand (&)

&b The text immediately following these characters as centered.

&b&b The text immediately following the first "&b" as centered, and the text following the
second "&b" as right-justified.

For example, if you want the header to have the window (page) title and the URL, you would type:

&w &u

If you wanted to make it so it also specified you were the one who printed it, you could put
something like:

&w &u Printed by Steve on &d

The only thing you need to keep an eye on is the spacing. To get a single space between items
(like &w&u) you need to hit the space bar twice

Simple way to do it.

1. press "print screen"

2. open "Paint"

3. Go to the "Edit" pull down menu and
select "Paste".

If you get the following message just click
"Yes"

"The image in the clipboard is larger than
the bitmap. Would you like the bitmap
enlarged?"

Then "Save" the image and use it where
ever you like.
