Getting an error that states "HIMEM.SYS has detected and unreliabe XMS memory at adress 0088ACB2 XMS driver not installed "
Please, need to know how to fix. I have downloaded a WinZip file for the XMS driver, but I 'm not sure it's the right version that's needed. She needs Version 3.95, or how do you get rid of this to install a different one? Computer was given to her-no info. Please help.

Hi Mary,
On my old Win3.1 Compaq laptop I have Himem.sys on the root of the C: drive. On my Win98 laptop it's in my c:\windows directory and one other directory for some reason. If after replacing or simply reloading this file you get the same message it is probably like John said and you might have a bad memory stick. Also, be sure check out brad's links as well....in fact I'm going to bookmark these myself.
