Reply: (edit)Go here: http://geocities.com/SiliconValley/Circuit/9810/Sofffffffware.html and search for:
Active Icons Icon Digger Icon Snatch I use all three and can find *any* icon on my PC and can Create/Edit new ones at will, then put them anywhere I want. And make many other changes to my Desktop and/or any icons anywhere. (All those f's in the link are *NOT* a typo)! Son of Spy's site is LOADED with untold goodies and links to even more. Don't let his 'name' throw you off, he is very privacy oriented.

Reply: (edit)Dunno if it works for ME, but there is a program called Cooldesktop (ver 1) from http://www.coolbananas.com.au/ It works for W95, W98 and NT. Run the program and it puts an icon in your taskbar. Click the icon and your desktop icons disappear. Click the icon again and they return. You can remove the Cool Desktop icon from the taskbar after you have cleared the icons. This allows auto-hide to work again. To restore desktop icons go through Start Menu to Windows Explorer and find the directory where you installed the .exe.
