I cleared everything in "cntl-alt-del", when into MSCONFIG-startup ang unchecked everything which should leave me with just explorer running. My question is, the hard disk light still flickers (is beind accessed) when nothing is going on, Is it possible than there is some kind of program running in stealth mode? and if so, how do I find it?

AdAware is a pretty good, free program for finding/removing spyware/adware. You can download it at: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/downloads.html
