My resolution is set at 1024x768 and Hi-Bit color, but all my icons are still only 16 colors. How do I get my icons to be hi-bit color, too?

Here's how you fix this problem: 1.) Go to Run and type in regedit.exe 2.) Under HKEY_CURRENT_USER, select Control Panel, under that select "desktop", then select Windows Metrics. 3.)You should see a key called "Shell Icon BPP" If not then go to edit, new, key and type that in. If it's there, make sure the value is set to 16. this should fix your problem.
