Comment:

Why is that when I try to load Internet Explorer 5.0 I get the following message "Setup was unable to download the required components. Please make sure you are connected to the internet or try to run Setup again later." But the thing is I am coonected to the internet via local area network. I can also load netscape no problem.

Does anyone have any thoughts on where I can start? I do have the full download 76MB.

HELP!!!

you can install it from the microsoft site .Choose run from current location instead of save to disk. If that doesn't work, what ISP do you use? You might time out if your ISP doesnt see anything going on.(downloads don't count!)

Get a FREE copy of IE5 on CD. KMART has a free Internet access CD with IE5 on it, and it can be installed separately. It's labeled Bluelight, and is near their checkout counter...

The thing is, is that we are always connected to the internet ( partial T1 connection) we don't have to dail-up and wait.

I too have tryed installed IE5 by CD, the same thing happens!

Now what? Any suggestions?

Hello Jennifer, My friend here at UNC-CH had the same problem with our T1 connection. What we did to get his to work was open netscape web browser and connect it to a page so the computer knew the connection was live. Then install either from the CD or from what you downloaded. This should work. It did in his case. Some programs just have trouble detecting a direct connection. If you have any further questions or comments feel free to contact me directly via email newzionempires@aol.com
Best of luck. Adam Koontz, NewZion Empires
