I cleaned out my old comp's HD and used a boot disc to reinstall windows but it keeps asking for windows startup disc # 2?

Now what you are saying is that you wiped out your drive completly from any data that use to be on your HD correct? Now did you fdisk your drive already? what are you installing on your box? is it 95 or 98? Why I am asking is because 95 needs a boot disk to load up the setup while if you are installing 98 then you can just boot from your CD-ROM abd install 98 that way. DOes this help you out?

Yep, the whole HD is clean, and my boot disc is ... destroyed. :) it had windows 98, and i tried using that but nothing seems to work!

Just stick in the your 98 disk and change the boot in the bios to cd-rom boot first. It should just start installing and give you the options. Try that and see how it goes

Thanks JJ but it only can change from floppy to harddrive?
