help with win 95 setup

I have been posting on this computer off and on for a while. In my last post everyone convinced me that win 95 would be the best OS for this PC. I had tried win 98, but it crashed a lot. Now I cannot load win 95 at all. How hard can it be???? the setup program crashes at various points before the OS completely loads.

the error message I continually get is: SUWIN caused an illegal instruction in module SUWIN.exe. also says: SUWIN caused an illegal instruction in module USER.exe.

I am guessing that SUWIN is setup windows program. Why can't I load 95 on this PC? I loaded 98 successfully several times.

Please help. I want to get this thing out of my house!!!! (It is a friends)

Did you format the drive? You should use a Win95 floppy to format it and to install win95. Don't use a win98 floppy.

Yes, I formatted the drive with a win 95 floppy and before that I created a primary dos partition.
