i got an old gov surpluss computer that i can ticker around with and i deleated what i thought was a part of AOL and now my monitor will not display in higher than 16 colors and the smallest resolution.

does anyone know what's wrong? and how to fix it?

You deleted part of the video driver. Get that file and run it and your options for higher colors and resoultions should reappear.

Today seems like a good day to chew through the restraints.

You'll have to determine the make/model of your video card (or onboard graphics), then download & install the correct Win98 compatible drivers

Yeah, I agree with Jam. I have a Compaq Presario 1670 that had the same problem at first but then I went onto the compaq site and was able to download the drivers for the video card so I could finally see all the colours of the rainbow, again! :)

You need a good defence if a trojan barges into your territory.

when you deleted, did you empty the recycle bin? If not, you should be able to restore from the recycle bin.
