Comment: i got an old gov surpluss computer that i can ticker around with and i deleated what i thought was a part of AOL and now my monitor will not display in higher than 16 colors and the smallest resolution. does anyone know what's wrong? and how to fix it?

Reply: (edit)You deleted part of the video driver. Get that file and run it and your options for higher colors and resoultions should reappear. Today seems like a good day to chew through the restraints.

Reply: (edit)You'll have to determine the make/model of your video card (or onboard graphics), then download & install the correct Win98 compatible drivers

I have a Compaq Presario 1670 that had the same problem at first but then I went onto the compaq site and was able to download the drivers for the video card so I could finally see all the colours of the rainbow, again! :) You need a good defence if a trojan barges into your territory.
