Subject: Help with FTP with a Linksys...

Comment: I recently installed a Linksys Router. When I access my IP address via browser or FTP client, It asks me for a Username and Password, which I don't know. How do I find out what it is?

Reply: (edit)is this the router's user/pass it's asking for? The same one you get when you type in 192.168.1.1? If so, then you would type in your routers password (whatever you have it set for). To use FTP with that router, you will have to disable DHCP on the router and specify your LAN IP through your PC's TCP/IP settings. You'll then have to use the router's port forwarding feature to forward a specific port to a LAN IP address. Then your ftp server (if active) should receive the request (assuming it's been set up for the same port). try the linksys help pages... they don't help much but are a start. If you have more questions, and I'm on the right target, email me and I can be more detailed (since I struggled with the above for a while). John
