Comment: i have a hdd of 20g+ and it was partitioned into c, d, and e. c being aprox 4g d being 9g and e was 7g i decided to format drive c having done this before thought there would be no prob. so went into fdisk and when c finished formatting it said error windows unable to load bcus c was not formatted corectly so i tried in vane to deleted dos partition and try again, first i just had a c drive of about 11g so i tried to format again and tinkered about with extended partition and ended up creating a d drive of 2 g but still it wont recognise the rest of my hard drive im running win 98 thanks in advance no email add cus ive not configured it yet

Reply: (edit)if you formatted drive c you have no OS anymore, so why you got a windows error is strange.

Reply: (edit)... fdisk /status, as suggested, would be helpful. Did you select 'large disk support'? This might explain the 2 Gb partition, that's as big as they get without large disk support - still, details are sketchy - try and restate - you may have done some irreversible things tho'.
