Comment: Recently I've been having problems with the SC-140S CDROM that came with my Compaq (model 5BW120). It no longer reads cds whatsoever. I've been looking for drivers to potentially fix this problem but have had no luck. If anyone could help, I'd appreciate it.

Reply: (edit)Might be that it's gone to cdrom heaven! Does it light up while PC is booting ? Make a spinning noise when you try to run a CD ? Boot up with a floppy, and try to access it in DOS...does it work ?

Reply: (edit)It does light up when booting... it spins as if it's trying to read the CD but can't.. it occasionally does work once in a while. No, I tried it in DOS mode and it could not acess it.
