Was wondering about my motherboard how to identifymy motherboard and if yall can tell me what the color of the slots mean, my ram is in a black slot w/ one extra black slot, and I also have 2 red slots. my modem & video card are strapped in on the bottome of the board w/ 5 slots. I am running Win 98se, I have a Intel X86 family15 Model1 Stepping2, ~1594mhz on the mem test screen at start up, I have a V92 modem by Creative and a Radeon 7000 64mg graphics card. any help with board identification and color identification would be great help, oh the motherboard is a dark red if that helps.
thanks a bunch, will

on the very first boot page,
hit the pause key.
there should be a string of numbers in the lower left corner.
thats the board id and maker

Or just post back here.

That may not identify the motherboard exactly. You may still have to open the case and look for a model #.

The OD1131 indicates it was made by Elitegroup computer. They have a site here:

http://www.ecsusa.com

You'll still have to open it to find a model #. The board is too new to leave a bios string trail in google.

It should also say something on the chipset heatsink which is near the cpu and ram. The brand name may be written there.
