This:
"OS: DELL LATITUDE CPQ
CPU/Ram: not sure
System Manufacturer: windows nt 98"Is more than a little confused, but I understand that you're new to this.
Hopefully you have the windows 98 CD.
If so, you'd do well to reinstall and before you connect to ANYTHING, get a firewall & a mainstream AV [anti-wirus].
Windows 98 Second Edition doesn't need any updates.
M2If at first you don't succeed, you're about average.

Hi marie,
You said that your friend up-graded to winXP?
In that case, go to:
start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system restore and restore your system to a date when it worked wellTry that for starters and post back and we'll try to get you to get the proper critical up-dates.
It's hard to do a good job
When you have a monkey on your back

You listed Windows NT 98 as your System Manufacturer, yet in your post, you say the machine was upgraded to XP. Since there is no SP3 for XP, I'm not sure what OS you're actually running.
I found these:

Yes, it would be worth spending a few minutes making sure what operating system you are running ("Windows system" for all practical purposes).
It sounds like it is now XP. Someone might be able to help on here but this is W95/W98 forum so another time the XP forum would be far better - if that's what it is.
It might be that replacement of the file imageurl.dll would help but I only have W95/98 files available.
