I am working on someone elses computer, it is an intel pent2 i440 chipset family. We reformatted the hard drive and reinstalled windows98 and lost the colors except for 2 and 16. It says it is a standard pci graphic adapter(vga)I have tried to find a driver for it and tried a few from the intel site, but they would not work with the standard vga. more info: chipset:intel i440BX chipset FW82371EB FW82443BX onboard MPACT2:2d/3d vga+hardware dvd+audio designed by chromatic research inc. 6ABX3 is launched with a single multimedia chip. also the monitor is an envision. any help would be great for the last 16 hours I have looked at every webpage, I can think of.

Alana, What brand of computer is this ? Is it Gateway or homebuilt or what ? (i.e. Have you tried the site that built the computer ?) I assume this is a video chip integrated on the motherboard ? For example, Gateway has a driver for a motheboard they have: http://www.gw2k.com.au/support/DriversMPact.asp Maybe you will get more responses. Just a thought or two. TnT

You need to find out exactly which type of on-board sound chip you have then go to a download site and download the driver for it. This will allow all the colour options. Try www.drivershq.com
