Comment:

okay I found this old pc and was wanting to turn it into a network "jukebox"

CPU: Pentium 75mhz

RAM: 48m

1 mb 256 color video card

5gb hard drive

So I wiped the hard disk and setup win 95
everything went fine but whenever I try to play wma files it really cuts up. I can play mp3,wav, fine. I even swiched sound cards and it still did it. Does playing wma files use cpu power or something?

Thanks

Yes indeed, WMA (like WMV) are highly compressed media files that require 'on the fly' decoding - 75MHz would really be pushing it.

We've heard that a million monkeys at a million keyboards could produce the complete works of Shakespeare; now, thanks to the Internet, we know that is not true
