Can someone tell me what is wrong here. I have no playback sound at all. I can play a music cd and hear it, but i cant even get normal windows sounds. Only music cds seem to work. I have checked in multimedia and there is no playback device in the audio. i have no volume speaker in the task bar either. what can i do to fix this. It is really annoying. I would appreciate any help. This is probably something really simple, but I just dont know what it is. Thanks Di

Reinstalling your sound card drivers, finding updated ones. Check volume control crank up the volume levels, make sure nothing is muted. Check your speakers volume level, check to see if any wires are loose.
