hi, i am in win98se, and just started using a lite-on 40x12x48 cdrw drive...along with a lite-on 16x dvd. well, the dvd runs great, but the cdrw is being recognized as a cd-rom! it won't let me burn with nero. it states no cd-recorder available. weird. but the drive works as a cd-rom. what did i do wrong!?
You need an update for EZCD too :-) Windows only recognizes and has drivers for cdroms. The burner software like Nero and EZCD have to supply their own drivers for CDRW.
ok, i just got easy cd creator 5 hooked up...and it still tells me that the cdrw is a cd-rom...when i go to burn cd it states that no cd-r is in the drive...i have tried 4 different brands...even the one that came with the freakin drive for free! H E L P ! i doubt this has to do with the programs, since i tried easy cd 4, easy cd 5, and nero!
ok, i put the dvd as slave on HD cable. now the cdrw is alone as master of secondary ide cable...but it still is not being read as a cdrw! there should be no conflicts...maybe i need a driver? i can't seem to figure out what it needs?
