I have a Daytona 64 trident 9680 video card (2mb), Sound Blaster 16, K6 233 processor, 32mb of ram... sometimes my computer freezes and becomes unresponsive to anything. Then i must hit the reset button. If i turn down the graphics acceleration to none, it doesn't ever seem to lock up, but at that setting, scrolling is extremely slow.....is there something else i can try that might make a difference? It will lock up sometimes when dragging, pressing buttons, dragging the scrollbar or anything else.....
Please HELP!!!!!!!

If you don't get any better answers than this one (because your not gonna like this one very well) Save everything you can on disk, reformat your drive and reinstall windows.
You might try using all your system tools first i.e. disk defragmenter and all that, maybe some kind of registry cleaner. If you have installed very many programs and deleted them without using uninstall then you could have a big mess.
I've reformatted my drive and reinstalled windows a couple times after I done some stupid things and it made a world of difference.
Wait and see if someone else has a better idea though.
Good luck!

Overheating of the CPU causes random lockups.

I had to buy a decent CPU fan. This made the lockups further apart but then bought a external fan (i.e. sucks air from inside the case to outside) and never had another problem.

My computer seems to lock up when I go from one website to another i.e. email that is suggesting a website. I have tried defragment which had helped alot and now its doing the same again. I have also tried scan disk. What do you suggest I try now. Thank you.
