more info needed, what sound card? if sb live ,get the win me update.(next suggestion might apply to yours) and in options in volume mixer ,click advanced and then click advanced under mic and uncheck the mic boost.
I have a similar problem, my volume control also slides down, I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling, I even quick restored my PC & nothing. No matter what I try my volume control keeps sliding down. I have a Compaq presario, I run windows 98 OS, I have a ESS 1869 plug & play audio(I think it's a chip built in to the mother board because I don't see a sound card). I have minimal sound, can't set it any higher because it just slides back down. I would appreciate any info you would be willing to share with me. I really hate playing CS2 & not being able to enjoy all the sounds that the game has to offer(always minimal sound, it sux).
