Hai!

I got a problem on scandisk! WHen my computer restart or I pressed restart button, the system should restart then with a scandisk indicating that error shut down and then scan the HDD for problems!

But now, my scandisk won't appear up! May I know how to make it load up whenever improper shut down of the computer occur?

Thanks

You can check at Start, Run, msconfig, General tab, Advanced button near the bottom.
Fifth item from the bottom is "Disable scandisk after bad shutdown".

Remove the check next to it, if found selected, to re-enable it.
Click Ok.

You may need to edit your C:\MSDOS.SYS file
to say AUTOSCAN=1

From Microsoft...
How to Edit the Msdos.sys File...

1. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files Or Folders.
2. In the Named box, type msdos.sys
3. In the Look In box, click drive C:
4. Click the Find Now button.
5. Right-click the Msdos.sys file, and then click Properties.
6. Click to clear the Read-Only and Hidden check boxes to remove these attributes from the Msdos.sys file, and then click OK.
7. Right-click the Msdos.sys file, and then click Open With.
8. In the Choose the program you want to use box, click WordPad, and then click OK.
9. Make the changes you want to the Msdos.sys file. When you are done, save the file.
10. Right-click the Msdos.sys file, and then click Properties.
11. Select the Read-Only and Hidden check boxes to set the attributes for the file, and then click OK.

Okay Christopher.
Have you got Tweakui installed ?
If yes, look at Boot tab, and see what the setting is for Autorun Scandisk.
The choices are Never / After Prompting and Without Prompting
Choose either After or Without Prompting.

in a lighter mood,
Christopher you are blessed! there are several people who post here saying they want to disable the irritating scandisk, and here you are with no scandisk running even after a bad shut down.
the angles have smiled on you...

All too often Windows develops a 'quirk' whereas it forgets settings. The resolve is to simply remind Windows (so to speak).

In this case I suggest placing the tick in the box as suggested.
Restart the PC.
Then go back and remove the tick.

If all goes well then Windows will then know what you want.

I have seen this quirk and fix in several unrelated situations.

May not be true in this case but it is a small amount of effort to try that will not makes anything worse.
