Your question makes no sense.
Need details about your system? Computer make and model? Hard drive? Operating system?
What are you trying to do? Low-level formatting is not something you normally would do to wipe a hard drive.

Low level format is not done by the user on recent drives. It was used on small drives that used MFM, RLL or IDE (not EIDE) controllers.Use fdisk, format and reinstall your OS only to avoid destruction of your drive.Good luck.

Low level does not exactly mean 'low' as in only a small format. "Low Level Format utility is designed to return the surface of the media to manufacturing specifications and format the hard drive as it was shipped from the factory. All data on the drive will be lost when using this utility." Ergo, wiped out. Ziltch, nada. Although troubleshooting shutdown problems can be very time consuming and frustrating for the user, but there can be simple solutions such as: shutdown Or here: shutdown Try these first.
Hope this helps..........ck

You can probably get a low level formatting utility from the HD manufacturer's site, but as other have said, it shouldn't be necessary.
