Have you got terminal services switched on on 2003? If you do, from win98, try

ping <server>

where <server> is the server name. If it comes back with unreachable, check your IP addresses, subnet mask and DNS prefix. The subnet mask and DNS prefix should be the same and the IP addresses should be on the same subnet. If that works, try

telnet <server>

If you get a login prompt, you're in. exit from telnet, download http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...
to your PC, then try the remote desktop.
