OK, it sounds like maybe, when you installed PSP 3, it wrote a file identity so that other programs don't recognize it. PSP 3 is a little OLD by now (I hve PSP 6, and gonna get PSP 7...)

One suggestion is to go into Windows Explorer
and under the VIEW on the menu, goto FOLDER OPTIONS.

Pick the FILE TYPES tab.

Scroll down the list of REGISTERED FILE TYPES.

See if you have one that says JPEG Image.

If NOT, then you can add a file identity, here I will give you mine...just add this file identity and see if it works:

In the DESCRIPTION OF TYPE box enter:

JPEG Image

In the Type (MIME) box use the drop down and
enter:

image/pjpeg

In the Default Extension for Content Type drop down enter:

.jpg

In the Actions box enter:

open

Click the EDIT button at the bottom of the
box:

In the Action box at the top it will say OPEN

In the APPLICATION USED TO PERFORM ACTION, enter the following:

"C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\iexplore.exe" -nohome

The above should be all one line with the
quotes exactly as you see

Make sure the USE DDE box is checked.

In the DDE Message box, enter:

"file:%1",,-1,,,,,

Just exactly as I have it above, with quotes.

In the Application box, enter:

IExplore

Leave the DDE Application Not Running box empty

In the TOPIC box, enter the following:

WWW_OpenURL

Click the OK button

Click the Close button

Click the Close button

Close Windows Explorer

Now, reboot the computer, and then see if you can see jpg files.

Hope this works!

I'm sure Jim's reply will work, but if you want an alternative that might be easier you could just search webcrawler for a program called irfanview. It is a free picture viewer
that displays all types of pics and it is totally free. It takes a little mucking around with to get the options the way you prefer them, but it is well worth the effort.
Good luck with whatever you choose to do.
