Subject: Help! Color is terrible :-( |
Comment: I hope someone can help me. I know there are some pretty smart tech guys out there. I am running win98, but the monitor I bought with the system went completely black....so I plugged in a Packard Bell monitor that belongs with my daughter's Packard Bell PC. But the color is terrible! I have it set at 640x600 with 16 color. It is a 1994 model screen. And I have tried to reset it but when I click on apply and the pc restarts I still have the terrible color. Can anyone help? Does this mean I need to buy a new monitor anyway? Thanks....Celeste

Reply: (edit)Hi there.I think your pc does not detects the monitor poperly because you changed it.so you can specify the monitor yourself by right clicking on your desktop navigating through properties/settings/advanced/monitor. if the monitor specified is not correct then change it to the correct one.if the monitor is correct then try to correct the refresh rate of your adapter to optimum.

Reply: (edit)is the video card set as a Standard PCI Video Adapter? are the video card drivers installed? also in display settings set the monitor as a SVGA 800 x 600 or SVGA 1024 x 768.
