Comment: Help, I can not find the answers to my problems so can i just go in and delete files in windows and win system but just leave dos files a lone and then star over?
i have all the drivers for cd rom and stuff. i set it up the first time. ???

Reply: (edit)try this: remove the modem and remove it from device manager. Then see if the system is ok. If ok then reinstall the modem and dial up networking and the networking protocols. See help for info on how to do it. Going back to 3.1 wont help. Just reinstall the aplications that have problems.

Reply: (edit)Put a Windows 98 start up disk in the floppy drive, then reboot computer. Choose "Start system with CDrom support". Wait until the A:\prompt appears and type Format C: /s After the format completes, put your Windows 98 CD in the drive and just type setup. That will save your previous dos and system files. Good luck.
