Heatsink/Thermal grease

I have benn running at almost 71 C and that is too high so i need to get a new heat sink and new thermal grease. I have an AMD 1.3 ghz
What should i get? iv herd copper core is good but is it. What is the best? heatsink/grease

Things that will make a bigger difference than the type of thermal paste:

Clean the heatsink/fan assembly with compressed air to remove the accumulated dust.

Remove the heatsink/fan assembly and clean off the old paste. You may need a solvent like lighter fluid if it's gotten hard. Put new paste on but just a little bit. Too much is not good.

Get a larger cooling fan that will blow a higher volume of air.

i have an amd 1.3gig cpu in a machine with win98se ,, running a copper base cooler thermaltake volcano 11 ..cpu temp is 36C,,

The odds are that you have a perfectly good heatsink/fan now. If you Follow DAVEINCAPS advice and clean things up, you probably don't even need a bigger fan. But make sure your case temperature is not too high. Check your power supply fan and case fans (if you have them).
